The heat is on

So this is the part where all my friends in Chicago get to point their fingers at me and laugh when they hear about the weather reports in AZ. Yes, yet another heat advisory. Don't laugh too hard just yet, though. I love the heat. I love going outside at 10 pm and it is still over a hundred degrees. Ahh, snuggly warm. I definitely like the above 100 more than below zero! And the monsoon season has already started. A few storms have already passed through. The trouble is, the storms split to go around Phoenix, never through, because of the heat island. We only get pretty small storms up here, not like the whoppers in Queen Creek and Gilbert. Rain here is quite the novelty.

Here are the big drawbacks of summer, driving a car is like driving around in an air conditioned oven. You can feel the sun doing its best to roast you alive, while your peasly air conditioner is doing its best to fight back, and losing. And then there's September, when the heat lingers on and on and the pools are too hot to swim in. It still beats shoveling snow though!
